About Dubuque Driving Academy

Driver's education is a foundational course for teens to learn how to make quick, safe choices daily. We believe where you send your teen to learn how to drive is one of the most important decisions you can make. Our goal is to inform students and parents with the most relevant information both in the classroom and behind the wheel. They will gain additional knowledge of the economics of vehicle ownership, insurance, and the effects of texting/drunk driving. We believe good driving skills and habits need to be constantly developed from permit, to intermediate, to full licensing. Communication during the course is our guide for parents and teens to continually develop these daily driving skills.

The State of Iowa mandates a minimum of 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. At Dubuque Driving Academy, we aim to have our class and behind-the-wheel instruction completed in a 4-week period.  Behind-the-wheel instruction drive times will be done via our online registration form. Drop off and pick up will be at safe and convenient locations.  Class time will be 3 hours long. Drive times will be 2 hours long. Your student MUST have a permit before beginning class. We encourage you to visit our FAQ page on any missed classes.  Course fee is $425.00 ($395 w/ reimbursement). $50.00 is due at time of registration to hold your spot. A full refund, minus the deposit, will be refunded if cancellation occurs prior to the first class starting.

We have a variety of insurance carriers that can meet your needs as your family grows. For a $30.00 reimbursement on your driver's education course, let us quote your insurance for this next phase of a teenage driver.
